Latin Conjugation Match-Up Game

Here we wanted to share a simple file folder game for practicing and reviewing Latin conjugation endings. But first, I wanted to share a fun resource that teaches vocabulary through Latin and Greek Word Roots and provides a fantastic foundation for future Latin and Greek study: The Word Up! Vocab Show!

Word Up!

And if you’re seeking to learn Latin in context, our family has really loved learning Latin using Visual Latin. I’ve gained much greater retention of concepts with this program. You can check it out for free at this link.

Visual Latin

Now, for the file folder game, we offer two different options:  one with just the Latin verb endings, another with the pronouns associated with each verb ending.  Add the cards to the match-up game as you progress through memorization of the table. Advanced students can place the blank charts in a page protector and write in the correct ending.

This template can also be printed on card stock (and/or laminated), hole-punched, and inserted into the notebook (instead of in a file folder).

Download the game template and assembly instructions.  (Assembly and printing instructions are on the last page of the document.) Also be sure to check out our story cues for Keeping the Tenses Straight.

For a different format, download Classical Academic Press’s Interactive Latin Endings Charts and create a similar file folder (or laminate and insert into notebook) for practicing Latin declensions and conjugations.
